Words are not always public
proclamations are not always loud
Transformation is sometimes silent away from the eyes of a skeptical crowd
Change is not the outside actions that shutters and toppled statues
Pulling labels and switching bandages from pale to brown or moving
Conventions to another town another time another place another date
Change doesn’t flow from the outside
Automatic robotic action streaming from rock hard pride
Birthed out of a shattered intellect
Broken by generations of taking whatever we can get
Change. The world wants change. The world screams change. The world needs change.
Like a metamorphosis of hatred blooming into love
Like the gift of United faces wanting nothing more than
To live and to give of themselves and to one another
Change. Not outside but inside. Like retiring Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben
Not with executive orders from an unpure heart or with demands
Of promises doomed from the start
Like checkbooks open to support a cause while self-examination is
Put on pause
If it ever started
Change from the inside out
Not from the outside in that repeats the cycle all over again
Change from the inside where The Holy Spirit resides
Cleansing, healing, restoring prompting a true transformation
While exposing our real motivation
Change by a renewal of our stubborn minds transfixed on believing
That what we see in the world is true that evil is good
and good Is a dream and God is not useful because He remains unseen
Change..not conforming to the patterns of the world
Change..deciding to hear what the Lord speaks while our
Lives speak
who we are as new creation not embracing the lie
Of selfish salvation.
Born again to change from the inside out first ourselves and then the world
Change
The world needs change
not shallow superficial just for the moment
Not fear driven guilt ridden somebody told me change
but deep tissue throw out the weeds scrape the bottom of the soul
Turn a mirror and expose deception from centuries old
Shine a light on pain entrenched choices and desperate defeated voices
change from the inside out not the outside in
Change
We are the change
We’re created to rule by God’s authority
People of God, Ambassadors for Christ, citizens of the kingdom of God
We are the change
Creation is longing to see
To empower build up tear down renew
What has God sent YOU to do?
