Trust & Believe In Order To Receive
We are saved (rescued, delivered, set free, and protected) from the consequences of our sinful condition when we confess of our sins, and accept (By Faith) that Christ is the only way back to God. However, it takes more than our mental knowledge of God, or knowing the plan of salvation. Information, in and of itself, is absolutely worthless unless you do something with it. It takes action and and a heartfelt surrender of your life to God.
Repent is an action word.
To Repent is to feel deep regret (to the point of grief) for sinful actions. Most importantly, it is the act of changing one’s heart, mind, and point of view.
Repentance is making a 180-degree turn away from those sinful actions – toward the heart, mind, point of view and ways of God. It means recognizing those sinful actions, and agreeing with God that they are sin, and making a conscious decision to allow God to help you turn and go in the opposite direction.
If You Believe, Then Receive
Dear God,
I know that there is nothing that I can do about my sinful condition on my own. I believe that You sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to re-establish my eternal relationship with You. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and rose from the grave so that I might have Eternal Life. Lord Jesus, I ask You come into my heart, take control of my life and save me from the penalty of sin. By faith I accept You as my Lord and Savior. By faith I am trusting in You, and You alone, to restore my eternal relationship with God.
Right now, I sincerely regret my sins, and with your help, I turn away from my sinful ways and turn toward You. I ask You, God, to forgive me of my sins and I rejoince that I am now forgiven and no longer condemned and I have the benefit of being legally adopted by you as your child. I believe that He that a place has bern purchased for me in Your Kingdom and that kingdom is now, living in me, moving me into my God-given purpose.
Holy Spirit, come into my life, transform my mind and heart, and help me to become all that God desires me to be. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray, Amen.
